Distributed Control System (DCS) "Tornado"is a full-scale system for control and maintenance of technological processes, the solutioin is based on microprocessor equipment. DCS "Tornado" is a scalable problem-oriented complex with functional blocks depending on input-output channels configuration, specifit industrial object requirements. Developers of high-tech solution take into consideration needs and peculiar features of equipment of industrial market.
Deployment of DCS "Tornado" on building and modernizing industrial objects substantially enhances engineering-and-economical performance due to implementation of modern complex control schemes, diagnozing of industrial control system facilities and equipment. By now our DCS successfully works at more than 80 industrial objects.
DCS "Tornado" is included in State Register of measuring tools of Russian Federation and Kazakhstan and is with all needed certificates of primary calibration of measurement modules.
DCS “Tornado” key features:
hot swapping of I/O modules (“Tornado-M” DCS) without disconnection of cables switching off power supplies (no initialization needed);
use of mezzanine technology for I/O controllers system unification;
direct connection of thermocouple signals, resistance sensor, current and voltage sensors, discrete signals 24V and 220V without use of relay cabinets and cross-connection racks;
use of processors allowing use of software facilities for number of tasks without hardware circuits. It results reduction in price and compactness of mounting equipment, decrease of power use and temperature range extension;
use of Ethernet-100 standard for controller intercommunication in DCS "Tornado" provides high speed of data transfer, decreases power consumption, lightens redundancy, allows designer to use standard communication equipment
DCS "Tornado" includes "metrologist's automation equipped working place" solution developed by the Company. It allows automatic performance of measuring channels and modules calibration accodring to State Standards of Russian Federation including production of required documents.
“Tornado” DCS issues:
- implementation of control system based on modern technical solutions;
- enhancing reliability index, eclogical and technical-economical indicators at the expense of execution of automated control schemes;
- creation of confortable environment of operations staff and "loading off" due to use of control functions, àutomation of technological equipment technical state;
- enhance staff's responsibility by record-keeping of actions;
- simplification of system maintenance and increase reliability due to deep diagnosis of technological equipment and industrial control system, required redundancy and modular componentry, blocking of inadequate information and staff mis-action, reconfiguring the schemes during DCS facilities failure, modules hot-swap;
- efficient information output to operative and administrative staff;
- decrease financial and material expenditure for automation.

“Tornado” DCS modifications
Distributed Control System complex is manufactured with several architectures and controllers equipment. Modifications are imstalled according to system's requirements, architecture peculiar features and complexity of the automation object.
"Tornado-M" - for major power plants with high degree of responsibility, complicated functions of local control and large amount of informational channels (up to several thousands). "Tornado-M" is based on MIF-controllers with distributed information processing. Automation complex works with any field level including russian and foreign field equipment; has self-diagnostic check system; high-reliable system; easy for installation and mounting; convenient for exploitation and maintenance. "Tornado-N" successfully for Industrial Control Systems of pthermal ower plants (powergenerating units, turbines, boiler units) and other major industrial objects.
"Tornado-I" - implemented in industrial control systems of middle small scale with complex gunctions of local control (thermal power planct, boilers, electric networks, cheimcal industry and oil processing, rail transport objects, industrial installations, e.t.c.). DCS is built on MIC-controllers and has modular architecture with centralized information processing. In local subsystems of "Tornado-I" DCS may have up to 280 channels.
"Tornado-N" - developed for distributed industrial control systems with homogeneous architecture. Complex is based on I/O modules MIRage-N with Fast Ethernet 100 Mbit/s bus. All system elements (interface units, processor modules, servers and workstations) are connected directly to united system infobahn. It is possible to use and controllers and PC-compatible devices as processing units. Distribution of system elements on the object reduces mounting expences for cable also positively affecting metrologic characteristics.
“Tornado Modular Systems” company develops microprocessor equipment and software for complex automation of electric network objects with telemechanics complex "Tornado-TM". Various combinations of standard products and software allow building automatic dispatcher control systems, automated informative electric power accounting systems and full-scale industrial control systems by switching intellectual devices performing logical control of any complexity. "Tornado-TM" complex performs data collection and transmission of telemechanical informationfor dispatcher and automated control and maintenance of geographically distributed industrial objects of power energy, municipal engineering, transportation, oil and gas industry, e.t.c. "Tornado-TM" structure includes two main system parts: "Tornado-KP" (controlled point of data collection and distribution) and "Tornado-CPPS" (cantral program-distributing station with backup functions).
